POSTALE

“What is Allora, un limoncello?”
People often confuse Allora as a limoncello, of course they do. It’s an alcoholic drink made from lemons… but that’s where the similarities stop.
Limoncello is a digestif, whilst Allora has a recipe designed for the aperitivo moment.
We say Allora is ‘inspired by limoncello’ as we use the local limoncello craft from our home on the Italian island of Procida, making the most of a recipe that uses the sweet lemon peel and the tree’s bitter leaves. We then add various herbs and botanicals to create an entirely new bittersweet spirit that’s perfect for mixing.
Whilst limoncello contains a lot more sugar and is thicker,
Allora is light, bright, all-natural and zesty.
So, Allora is a lemon spirit, just not like the one
Zia Rina used to make at home

How to make limoncello like a local.
Allora Aperitivo al Limone uses lemons and leaves from the Italian island of Procida.
Inspired by the island’s local limoncello processes we use the citrus fruits sweet peel and bitter leaves in the maceration process before adding different herbs and botanticals. Creating a lemon apertif, not a digestif.
However, if you’re looking for a limoncello, the local receipe uses the peel and fresh leaves from the island’s unique ‘bread lemons’ before adding sugar and water.
You could try and make it at home but it might make more
sense to buy a bottle from our dear partners at Scorza.

Prendo uno Spritz!
From beach bars to piazzas no matter where you turn in Italy, during aperitivo you’ll hear the shouts of ‘prendo uno spritz!’
With a small bite to eat in one hand and an Aperol Spritz, Campari Spritz or limoncello spritz in the other it’s the best way to see the sun set.
This is what inspired Allora. Limoncello is not made for spritzes as it’s a digestif.
Which is why Allora was created to be the aperitivo al limone. Light, bright and bittersweet it’s designed to be served in a spritz.
So next time you’re at a bar for aperitivo, why not shout,
‘Prendo uno Allora Limone Spritz!’

Coffee in the morning in Marina Corricella
There is nothing more tranquil than waking up in Marina Corricella. The sound of the church bells siren that fishing boats are returning, guided to the port by pastel coloured houses.
Nonna wave home the fisherman with washing flapping in the breeze, whilst Nonno’s put weather worn hands to work, preparing nets for the next voyage.
There is nothing better than watching the exact same story unfurl every morning in this harbour, with the smell of espresso in air, staring out into the azzuri blue sky.
The rhythm of this island has remained unchanged for centuries and hopefully always will.

A different way to spritz.
The Allora Limone Spritz is the aperitivo al limone’s signature cocktail and is served senza prosecco.
75ml Allora, 75ml Soda and served over ice. Refreshingly simple.
Ma perche? Allora’s recipe is designed to not need prosecco in the limone spritz so it can serve up a bittersweet, zesty aperitivo full of flavour without having unnecessarily high sugar content or ABV.
We like to think of it as bubbles without the fizz.

Something to write home about.
Allora Aperitivo al Limone launched in the spring of 2024. The brand and product is a love letter to Italy, from its recipe’s provenance on Procida which is the heart of the liquid to a brand that pays homage to the style of golden-era, mid-century Italia.
Which is why we were over la luna - when our small family run business that was nurtured with love picked up two Spirit Business awards in our first year – A Gold Medal in the blind taste tests and Best New Product 2024.
Saluti a tutti for the love and support!

Scopa!
If you’re ever looking to join La Familiga Allora for an aperitivo al Limone, chances are we’ll make you play scopa with us.
One of our founders was brought up playing this Neapolitan card game with their Nonna and Nonno and has loved it ever since.
Italy has a different set of playing cards than a lot of countries and with that comes different games, ‘scopa’ literally means ‘broom’ as you try to sweep the cards up from the table and score points as you do.
So next time you’re playing solitaire or rummy, swap the gin
for an Allora and have a much livelier game.
